Qualified sponsor prospects identified
36 qualified prospects. 9 sponsorship agreements.
Sponsorship revenue starts with a business case—not simply an audience to sell. At We Are Sales, I researched relevant partners, framed their commercial opportunity and helped move qualified prospects into signed sponsorships.
Sponsorship agreements secured
Total sponsorship revenue from the nine agreements
Nine agreements from 36 qualified prospects represent a 25% prospect-to-sponsor conversion within this defined pool.
Visibility is an offer. Commercial relevance is a reason to buy.
We Are Sales operated B2B media, events and professional community activities. Sponsors could gain access to a relevant audience—but access alone doesn't explain why a particular company should invest.
Potential sponsors needed to understand whether the audience aligned with their own prospective customers, commercial goals and partnership priorities.
The work therefore needed to start before outreach: identifying organizations with a credible reason to sponsor and shaping the opportunity around what mattered to them.
Selective research before the sales pitch.
Qualify the right companies.
I researched prospective sponsors whose target customers, commercial interests or partnership priorities aligned with the We Are Sales audience. That narrowed the outreach pool to more credible opportunities.
Give each prospect a business case.
I developed partner-facing propositions that explained the potential value of participation to that particular sponsor—not merely that a sponsorship slot was available.
Reach decision-makers and follow through.
I identified relevant decision-makers, carried out direct outreach and advanced opportunities through follow-up and commercial discussions.
Six agreements personally led. Nine secured across the project.
I personally led six of the nine sponsorship agreements end to end and supported the remaining three.
My responsibilities included commercial opportunity research, prospect qualification, sponsorship positioning, decision-maker mapping, direct outreach and follow-up.
The approximately $140,000 figure describes the combined sponsorship revenue from all nine agreements. It is not presented as revenue I single-handedly generated from all nine deals.
The prospect list is only useful if the reason to buy is clear.
The 25% conversion within the qualified prospect pool was achieved through a connected process: select companies with relevant commercial interests, make the partnership case in their terms, reach the right person and keep the conversation moving.
It is an approach I continue to value in B2B acquisition: prioritization comes before scale, and commercial fit should shape what you say and whom you say it to.
